children with disabilities in the districts of Aleipata and nearby Lepa.
The Japanese Government assistance to Lalomanu Primary School amounted
to SAT$220,884 or AUD$120,277 and was made available under the
Grassroots Human Security Grant Aid Programme funding for FY 2002.
Lalomanu village provided as counterpart contribution the builder and
assisting workers, sand, rocks and other assistance to the construction
works.
Similarly, Fagafau and Samata i tai villages provided as counterpart
contribution the builder and assisting workers, sand, rocks and other
assistance to the construction works.
The old Fagafau & Samata-i-tai school building was in a deteriorated
condition and was rebuilt through JICA's standardised school building
plans for a single level 12 room building with a library and staffroom
