The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in Nauru has handed down his ruling that unequivocally overturns the opposition’s attempts to amend the country’s Citizenship Act, which would have made two senior ministers ineligible to take their seats in parliament. The attempt to change the Act was made during a meeting of opposition members on Easter Saturday night, which the opposition had earlier claimed was a lawful sitting.
